91¸£Àû self-guided walking tours website is designed to be compatible with mobile devices, such as smartphones that can take advantage of the interactive map and direction links.

The self-guided walking tours are an initiative of the 91¸£Àû Division of Marketing and Communications. Two of the principal researchers for the project are Marisue and John Pickering, who have multiple connections to the University of Maine. Marisue is a professor emerita and John an alumnus (’89G). Their decades-long experience as educators, and their shared interest in exploring Maine’s historical and cultural heritage, led to their interest in collaborating on the 91¸£Àû self-guided walking tours.
