Profile
Caroline L. Noblet is an associate professor in the School of Economics at the University of Maine. Her research explores why people act the way they do towards the environment. This question takes her across academic disciplinary boundaries between the fields of economics, psychology, and communication. Noblet鈥檚 research has focused on the role of information in making decisions about, and towards, the environment. At a local level, Noblet researches the changing environmental and economic landscape of Maine.
Research Awards: In 2023 she was awarded the Outstanding Public Service through Economics award from the Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association (NAREA).听 In 2024, the College of Earth, Life and Health Sciences Research Collaboration Award (PFAS Collaborative).In 2022, Noblet won the award for Outstanding contribution toward the development of a solution by a research team from the George J. Mitchell Center for Sustainability Solutions.
Teaching Awards :2024 University of Maine鈥檚 Faculty Mentor Award (nominated by both graduate and undergraduate students, also nominated in 2023), the 2024 Outstanding mentorship of students in sustainability research from the George J. Mitchell Center for Sustainability Solutions (nominated by graduate students), the 2016 Outstanding Teaching Award from College of Earth, Life and Health Sciences and the 2012 Outstanding Graduate Faculty Mentor Award.
