I enjoy the field of fin fish aquaculture and have positioned myself in a variety of fields, carefully fine tuning my interests.Ìý My career has largely focused on fish health and disease, but I also have experience with fish culture techniques.Ìý I currently study disease transmission dynamics of sea lice, a group of ectoparasitic crustaceans infesting a wide breadth of fishes. More specifically, my study focuses on those species infesting Atlantic salmon in areas supporting marine aquaculture across Maine. I use sentinel cages for disease surveillance and plan to incorporate laboratory experiments and models to better understand observed trends of infestation.
