Brief Biography:<\/strong> Alyson East is a PhD student focused on Quantitative Ecology at the University of Maine. She studies forest structure, biodiversity, and disturbance using remote sensing and ecological theory. Outside of work, you can find her hiking, biking, or paddling with her dog and husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current Research:<\/strong> My research bridges biodiversity and remote sensing. I study intraspecific trait variation in NEON carabid beetles to understand ecological and biogeographic patterns and use forest remote sensing to explore size\u2013abundance scaling as a framework for linking individual trees to ecosystem structure and function.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
