The Aroostook river runs for about 112 miles, starting “from the\u00a0confluence<\/a>\u00a0of Millinocket Stream and Munsungan Stream in Maine Township\u00a08, Range\u00a08, WELS, in northern\u00a0Penobscot County<\/a>. The river winds east and northeast through\u00a0Aroostook County<\/a>. It runs through\u00a0Ashland<\/a>, and passes north of\u00a0Presque Isle<\/a>\u00a0and east of\u00a0Caribou<\/a>, down to Fort Fairfield.
