The plantation is most well known as the home of Saddleback Mountain ski area and for the Appalachian Trail passing through its territory.<\/p>\n<h4>Activities<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mainetrailfinder.com\/trails\/trail\/appalachian-trail-piazza-rock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Appalachian Trail &#8211; Piazza Rock Trail<\/strong><\/a> <em>Rte 4, Sandy Rock, ME 04970<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>This challenging 4.1-mile round trip on a section of the Appalachian Trail meanders through the forest to the unique Piazza Rock, with the option to continue onward past several ponds and up to Saddleback Mountain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mainetrailfinder.com\/trails\/trail\/cascade-stream-gorge-trail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Cascade Stream Gorge Trail<\/strong><\/a> <em>Townhall Rd, Sandy River Plt, ME 04970<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>This easy, 1-mile loop offers beautiful views of a series of waterfalls along Cascade Stream and includes a nice picnic area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mainelakesandmountains.com\/story\/four-ponds-public-reserved-land\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Four Ponds Public Reserve Land<\/strong><\/a> <em>ME-17 in Township D or Rte 4 in Sandy River, ME<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>This 6,000-acre expanse of public land has a lot to offer! The Appalachian Trail winds through the property, passing the beautiful Sabbath Day Pond and its lean-to, as well as the Little Swift River Pond and its primitive campsite.
