This area was once home to the small town of Berlin, which no longer exists today. This area is known for its beautiful natural features, most notably the famous Height of Land with its unmatched panoramic view.<\/p>\n<h4>Activities<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mainetrailfinder.com\/trails\/trail\/angel-falls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Angel Falls<\/strong><\/a> <em>Bemis Rd, Township D, ME 04275<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Angel Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in the state and is no slouch in the beauty department; the waterfall forms the shape of an angel&#8217;s wings during high water! After a short 1-mile hike, accompanied by multiple stream crossings, you&#8217;ll come across Angel Falls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mainelakesandmountains.com\/story\/four-ponds-public-reserved-land\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Four Ponds Public Land<\/strong><\/a> <em>ME-17 in Township D or Rte 4 in Sandy River, ME<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>This 6,000-acre expanse of public land has a lot to offer! The Appalachian Trail winds through the property, passing the beautiful Sabbath Day Pond and its lean-to, as well as the Little Swift River Pond and its primitive campsite. This is a great destination for hiking a section of the Trail, swimming, and snowmobiling in the wintertime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/heightofland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Height of Land<\/strong><\/a> <em>Rte 17, Township E, ME 04970<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Height of Land is a must-see view before you leave the Rangeley area. It overlooks Richardson Lake and Mooselookmeguntic Lake; the White Mountains are in the distance, as well!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newenglandwaterfalls.com\/me-smallsfalls.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Smalls Falls<\/strong><\/a> <em>Rte 4, Township E, ME 04275<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>This waterfall glows with warmth in the sunlight and offers swimming holes for your family to enjoy or however large a group!
