(McCauley p.100 &#8211; <em>The Names of Maine<\/em>) Today Littleton is home to the government of the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, the original inhabitants of this area, and potatoes remain an important crop for local farmers.<\/p>\n<h4>Activities<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mainesolarsystem.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>The Maine Solar System Model &#8211; Neptune &amp; Pluto<\/b><\/a><i> US-1, Littleton<em>, ME 04730<\/em><br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Located in Aroostook County is the world&#8217;s largest complete 3-D, 40-mile long scale model of the solar system, representing from the Sun to Pluto. The model was built by various Aroostook County community members and was formally unveiled in June 2003.
