Aroostook Otters
Paul CyrAdorable Maine Otters!

The town of Canton was initially incorporated as part of neighboring Jay in 1795 and separated in 1821. Canton Point was the site of the village of the Androscoggin Abenaki Indians. Canton’s excellent soil and water power resources helped the town to grow over the years. In more recent decades, Canton has become a popular summer recreation area for its beautiful, clear waters.
