How to Become an Internship Instructor for the University of Maine School of Social Work

Eligibility

Social workers who provide BSW-level internship instruction must hold a BSW and/or MSW. Social workers who provide MSW-level internship instruction must hold an MSW. In addition, all University of Maine School of Social Work internship instructors must meet the following criteria:

  • Two or more years of post-BSW and/or post-MSW social work experience;
  • Employed by the site for which they are providing internship instruction for at least 6 months prior to the student鈥檚 placement; 
  • Agree to provide 1-1.5 hours of supervision per week to any assigned interns;
  • Participate in University of Maine School of Social Work internship instructor training and orientation.

How to Apply

If you meet the qualifications above, please submit an Agency Information Form. Once your application is received, the Internship team will review it and arrange for a meeting to get to know you and the internship opportunity. Once approved, the internship team will reach out to coordinate the connection between you and interested students.聽
