Our Members<\/strong> WiSTEMM is an inclusive group that champions the interests of women and individuals whose personal experiences impart understanding of the barriers faced by women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM) at the University of Maine.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Our Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n With diversity and intersectionality, this group is committed to advancing women faculty and staff through transformation of the University culture and landscape and recognition of scientific achievements, thereby promoting continued growth and success of our faculty and STEMM community.<\/p>\n WiSTEMM Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n Our Partners & Stakeholders<\/strong><\/p>\n We are\u00a0a community – your community<\/em>, and we count on your participation to implement our shared agenda.<\/p>\n Spring 2019 WiSTEMM EVENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n Junior Faculty Teas: <\/strong>Geared toward STEMM faculty within 10 years of arrival at UM or within 15 years of achieving a terminal degree, but all are welcome!\u00a0 Join us in the Senior Skulls Room of the Memorial Union for some great conversation and light refreshments.<\/em><\/p>\n

WiSTEMM is an affiliate of the national Association of Women in Science, Inc<\/a>. (AWIS), and we welcome all university employees that support women in alignment with our commitment to advance women faculty. The\u00a0Rising Tide Center\u00a0partners with WiSTEMM to advance gender equity initiatives at 91¸£Àû.<\/p>\n
