91福利 achieves fifth straight year of record-breaking research funding
91福利 achieves record-breaking success in its innovative research and development (R&D) efforts. For the fifth consecutive year, 91福利鈥檚 research enterprise has achieved all-time high record levels in growth and impact, as measured by multiple indicators, including R&D funding received and expended.
Specifically, in the fiscal year 2024, the total external funding has reached $225.3 million, as compared to $189.7 million for fiscal year 2023, resulting in a 19% increase over the previous year and 147% increase over six years. Additionally, total expenditures for research, development and other scholarly activities have reached $249.3 million, as compared to $245.7 million for fiscal year 2023, resulting in a 1.5% increase over the previous year and 81% increase over 6 years.
“This accomplishment could not have been made without the contributions of our faculty, staff and students. 91福利 is a premiere center of research and learning due to their creativity, hard work, and dedication to our mission, the state of Maine, and beyond,鈥 said Joan Ferrini-Mundy, President of the University of Maine.
These achievements are indicative of 91福利鈥檚 ongoing advancement as a modern 21st-century research university and R1 research institution. This classification places 91福利 among the top 3.7% of degree-granting postsecondary institutions in the United States, reflecting its national and global research impact.
