This change applies to new and three-year renewal protocols submitted to 91¸£Àû and subsequently ACURO on or after January 1, 2026.

For new Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols with DoD funding submitted after January 1, 2026, submit them separately from protocols funded by other sources.

A new webpage on the 91¸£Àû IACUC website has been created as a permanent resource for this information.

]]> Animal Care Requirement for OHSP (Occupational Health & Safety Program) for Fall 2024 /research-compliance/2024/04/17/animal-care-requirement-for-ohsp-occupational-health-safety-program/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 19:04:52 +0000 /research-compliance/?p=5634 There is an Occupational Health & Safety Program (OHSP) requirement for all animal users at 91¸£Àû. Anyone from 91¸£Àû (staff, student, or faculty) listed on an IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) protocol must enroll in the OHSP. This is a longstanding requirement from the Federal agencies, and in Fall 2024 we will start withholding protocol approval until the PI (and Co-PI) has obtained OHSP clearance.

Other personnel listed on the protocol cannot begin animal work until they have obtained OHSP clearance and will not be added to the protocol unless they have OHSP clearance.
