{"id":211,"date":"2015-11-05T12:52:22","date_gmt":"2015-11-05T17:52:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/umaine.edu\/pagefarm\/?post_type=tribe_events&amp;p=211"},"modified":"2015-11-05T12:52:22","modified_gmt":"2015-11-05T17:52:22","slug":"wreathmaking-workshop-2","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/pagefarm\/event\/wreathmaking-workshop-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Wreathmaking Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0annual wreath-making workshops will be held this year on Saturday, Nov. 28, from 11-1 and again 2-4; Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 5-7 p.m.; Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1-3 p.m.; and Thursday, Dec. 3 from 6-8 p.m., offering participants an opportunity to enjoy a hands-on start to the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>Local wreath-wrapper, Zach Smith and Museum Director,\u00a0Patricia Henner,\u00a0who has been conducting wreath workshops at the museum for over\u00a010 years, will offer both novice and expert wreath-makers the materials and instruction necessary to take home a decorative wreath to last for months.<\/p>\n<p>An $18 charge covers the cost of materials \u2014 one 12-inch ring, balsam fir, cedar and white pine boughs, pine cones, reindeer moss\u00a0and colored ribbon. \u00a0Feel free to bring natural decorations from your own yard to add to your special, one-of-a-kind wreath.<\/p>\n<p>Because space limits participation to groups of 14 people for each of the \u00a0workshops, the Museum encourages early registration.<\/p>\n<p>These workshops always fill up quickly.<\/p>\n<p>For people who wish to buy a locally made holiday wreath, The museum will be selling completed wreaths beginning Nov. 17 for $18, of which $6 is donated to help support the non-profit, educational museum\u2019s programs. The prepared wreaths are made at local farms and at the Museum with five pounds of fresh, fragrant and hand-wrapped fir bough tips and are decorated with pine cones, berries and ribbon.
