We prepared all summer for a major update of the Blue student evaluation system that was implemented at the end of August. Many of the changes to the platform are behind-the-scenes and will help us manage the system. Some of the changes will be apparent to faculty and students, most notably the more modern presentation of the surveys (see comparison examples below).<\/span><\/p>\n

For faculty interested in conducting research related to student evaluations we wanted to let you know of a funding opportunity from Explorance Blue, the maker of our student evaluation system. Each year, Blue commits $100,000 for research projects using course evaluation data or other student experience data to improve teaching effectiveness or student success. The application deadline for this year is December 7, 2022.
