(NHPR) interviewed Kylie Brunette, University of Maine Ph.D. student in wildlife ecology, on revealing the first known evidence of American woodcock hens aggressively charging white-tailed deer to defend their nests. 鈥淲oodcock are not typically considered aggressive. They鈥檙e just a funky little bird. You look them in the eye and there鈥檚 maybe not that much going on upstairs,鈥 Brunette said. 鈥淭hey鈥檙e internet famous and beloved because they do a funny little dance and they make a funny little sound.鈥
