Maine Public speaks to Moran about Maine apple season

interviewed Renae Moran, professor of pomology with the University of Maine School of Food and Agriculture and fruit tree specialist with University of Maine Cooperative Extension, about Maine鈥檚 鈥渉it-or-miss鈥 apple season. “What I’m seeing is a high variation in yield from orchard to orchard. Some have a full crop. Some have a ripe crop. And a few actually don’t have any apples,鈥 Moran said. Moran also noted that Maine’s peach farmers have fared far worse this year, because of a few days of extreme cold in February.
