Eric Landis, professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Maine, partnered with researchers at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and the University of Vermont, who are all a part of the Transportation Infrastructure Durability Center (TIDC), for a project entitled 鈥鈥澛
Their work, titled 鈥淏ridge deck underside evaluation with contacting and noncontacting UAS-mounted sensors,鈥 presents a revolutionary new way to inspect bridges using Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) or drones to inspect the undersides of bridges. The research was presented at the conference in Long Beach, California.
