Phil Dunn, a University of Maine professor of construction engineering technology, and senior student Josh Reed talked with (Channel 5) for a story about student service projects underway at Hirundo Wildlife Refuge in Old Town. 鈥淲e鈥檙e trying to give students real-life experiences with construction,鈥 said Dunn. 鈥淭here is a classroom portion where they work with the actual client, and they figure out what the client wants.鈥 Reed noted he and his fellow students were building a parking lot, a gate and a kiosk.
