interviewed University of Maine 2021 Valedictorian Bailey West and Salutatorian Drew Bennett. 鈥淪o this summer, I鈥檒l be at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor for their summer student program, conducting research and then in the fall I鈥檒l be attending the John Hopkins University School of Medicine for their Ph.D. program in pathobiology,鈥 West said. 鈥淔ind an on-campus job, or an internship, or a club, or a volunteering activity. Find something else that can be your creative outlet that you can put some time into, it will help balance your life, for me, it’s volunteering with robotics and also running robotics clubs on campus, if I didn鈥檛 have that I don鈥檛 think I would have been able to be nearly as successful in school as I was,鈥 Bennett said.
