Richard Corey, director of the Virtual Environments and Multimodal Interaction (VEMI) Laboratory at the University of Maine, and Paul Fink, graduate research assistant, spoke with (Channel 5) about development of AVA, an app to help the visually impaired navigate to autonomous vehicles. VEMI Lab received $300,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to continue development.
