That\u2019s enough to feed 26.5 million people in a year or about 350,000 U.S. residents over their lifetimes. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usda.gov\/foodlossandwaste\/faqs#:~:text=In%20the%20United%20States%2C%20food,percent%20of%20the%20food%20supply.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to the USDA<\/a>, 30\u201340% of the U.S. food supply is wasted.<\/p>\n<p>Reducing this food waste could benefit society by helping to feed people in need, eliminating the valuable resources used to produce the wasted food, and mitigating the climate impacts caused by rotting food waste in landfills.
