Mitchell Center researchers Aaron Weiskittel, Cindy Isenhour, Sharon Klein, Laura Rickard, and Balu Nayak are among twenty-one University of Maine faculty who recently received tenure and\/or promotion.<\/p>\n

Weiskittel, of the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry, and Agriculture<\/em>, was promoted to professor of Forest Biometrics and Modeling in the School of Forest Resources where he is the Irving Chair of Forest Ecosystem Management.His work primarily seeks to develop empirical and process-based models to predict biomass growth and yield across a range of forest types.\u00a0Weiskittel\u2019s full biography can be read here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cindy Isenhour<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Isenhour, of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences,<\/em>was promoted to associate professor with tenure. She is an ecological and economic anthropologist and serves as associate professor of anthropology in the Department of Anthropology. She is also a cooperating faculty member at the Climate Change Institute. Isenhour\u2019s full biography can be read here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sharon Klein<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Klein, of the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry, and Agriculture, was promoted to associate professor with tenure in the School of Economics. She researches the technical, economic, environmental and social tradeoffs inherent in the production, distribution, and use of energy. She has a particular interest in the development of community-based energy and efficiency projects in conjunction with her teaching undergraduate and graduate students throughservice learning. Rickard, of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, was promoted to associate professor with\u00a0tenure in the Department of Communication and Journalism.
