Barbara has helped to steward these assets through her legislative work as both a Maine State Representative and State Senator, her service on boards for Maine Audubon and The Nature Conservancy, and her current tenure on the Land for Maine\u2019s Future Board.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara received her B.A. from Wellesley College, an M.S. in Education from the University of Southern Maine, and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University. She has held positions as an English teacher, an Aquatics Director for the YWCA, a healthcare executive, a volunteer fundraiser for local and state non-profits, and the author of Women Winning: How to Run for Office and The Women\u2019s Campaign Game.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara has served previously as the Chair of Maine Housing Authority, a Director of Casco Bank, a Director of the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce, a Trustee of Maine Maritime Academy, the Chair of Bates College\u2019s Garcelon Scholarship Fund, and a Trustee of the Auburn Public Library.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara lives in Brunswick with her husband Richard and has three children and four grandchildren.
