Sandra De Urioste-Stone, associate professor of nature-based tourism in the School of Forest Resources and Mitchell Center faculty fellow, has been named Assistant Vice President for Research at 91¸£Àû.

De Urioste-Stone’s collaborative work has contributed to more than $9 million in external and internal research grants, including funding for the creation of the National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) Program in Conservation Science and Practice at 91¸£Àû.

She led the Mitchell Center-funded project Mitigating Environmental-Human Determinants of Tickborne Disease Risk in Acadia National Park and is advising a project led by a team of graduate students on helping Maine communities plan for climate change adaptation.
