Dr. Jamie Kreiner (University of Georgia) will be speaking about &#8220;The Meaty Mind: Eating and Thinking in Early Christian Monasticism.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The History Department\u00a0Symposium\u00a0Series, \u201cHistory through Food &amp; Drink,&#8221; is supported in part\u00a0by a grant from the Cultural Affairs\/Distinguished Lecture Series Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jamie Kreiner is Professor of History at the University of Georgia, and her research examines the politics, ethics, and scientific sensibilities of the early Middle Ages. Her work has been awarded prizes from multiple professional academic societies; and it has been covered in a range of popular press outlets, including\u00a0People,\u00a0WIRED,\u00a0The Wall Street Journal,\u00a0The New York Times, and\u00a0The New Yorker.
