The film selections examine colonialism, racism and post-colonial identity, as well as decolonization of the film industry itself.<\/p>\n<p>All films will be shown in the Hill Auditorium in Barrows Hall at 6PM on the following Mondays. Spring films and dates announced soon:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>October 21 &#8211; <em>Zama <\/em>(2017), dir. Lucrecia Martel, 115 minute runtime<\/li>\n<li>November 4 &#8211; <em>Carol<\/em> (2015), dir. Todd Haynes, 118 minute runtime<\/li>\n<li>November 18 &#8211; <em>Before Tomorrow<\/em> (2008),\u00a0dir. Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Cousineau and Madeline Ivalu, 93 minute runtime<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Roger Ebert&#8217;s review of Carol:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In &#8220;Carol,&#8221; Haynes turns his eye on the &#8220;invisible&#8221; lesbian sub-culture of the 1950s closet. A lush emotional melodrama along the lines of the films of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rogerebert.com\/cast-and-crew\/douglas-sirk\">Douglas Sirk<\/a>, Haynes&#8217; patron saint, &#8220;Carol&#8221; is often about its surfaces, their beauty\u00a0contrasting with the scary duality of people, relationships.
