On May 12, 2014 members of the University of Maine Humanities Initiative’s Executive Committee met in Washington, D.C. \u00a0Thanks to committee member John Veroneau for hosting us at his law firm, Covington & Burling, LLP.<\/p>\n
We also thank Maine Senator Angus King and National Gallery of Art director Earl A. Powell III for delivering remarks about the importance of the arts and humanities to the civic wellbeing of our nation.<\/p>\n
