Mitchell Center for Sustainability Solutions &#8211; Faculty Associate, <span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, sans-serif\">Graduate School of Biomedical Science and Engineering (GSBSE).\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif\">University of Maine<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Saber aims to understand microbial dispersion within healthcare institutions to ultimately drive policy and procedures towards the highest level of standardized prevention and readiness for future infectious outbreaks. As a practicing intensive care registered nurse (RN) with over 25 years of clinical experience, she has cared for patients infected with multidrug resistant organisms (e.g., methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, vancomycin resistant Enterococcus, multidrug resistant tuberculosis) and during outbreaks that include human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and H1N1. Her research aims to 1) understand the environmental presence of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus, and COVID-19; and 2) examine infection control strategies in healthcare facilities for patients placed in contact isolation.<\/p>\n<p>Events are free but registration is required.
