Wound healing and tissue repair are complex biological phenomena that are associated with degenerative diseases such as diabetes mellitus, ischemic disorders and atherosclerosis. We are exploring the role, molecular mechanisms and genomic effects of polyphenols (anthocyanins and phenolic acids) on endothelial cell migration and angiogenesis as it relates to the above diseases.
