Chiang\, director of the National Eye Institute. A pediatric ophthalmologist and board-certified clinical informatics specialist\, Chiang’s work focuses on the intersection of biomedical informatics and clinical ophthalmology. His research explores topics including artificial intelligence in healthcare\, telehealth\, electronic health records\, and data-driven approaches to improving patient outcomes. \nChiang has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications and has led the development of an assistive artificial intelligence system for retinopathy of prematurity that received Breakthrough Device designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
