MCSIE’s Internship program began in the Summer of 2023. MCSIE staff worked with two interns to acquaint them with the unique science-policy space MCSIE works within as they completed individual projects. In addition, professional networking and skills building were made available through a partnership with Maine Career Catalyst<\/a>, while science communication training and the opportunity to put that training to use during the First Annual Symposium for the Advancement of Maine’s Blue Economy were made possible by partnering with the Aquaculture Research Institute.<\/a><\/p>\n

Hayden Eckblom worked with Dr. Bev Johnson at Bates College studying carbon sequestration in salt marshes.<\/p>\n
