Congratulations to Dr. Hepeng Li on receiving a $249,959 National Science Foundation (NSF) award to support the project, “Towards Collaborative Intelligence: An Integrated Learning Framework for Communication and Decision-Making.”
The three-year research project will develop new theoretical foundations and decentralized learning algorithms that integrate communication and decision-making in networked multi-agent systems. By advancing collaborative artificial intelligence and validating these approaches through smart grid applications, the work has the potential to improve the resilience, efficiency, and scalability of critical infrastructure.
This award reflects the Maine College of Engineering and Computing’s continued leadership in artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, and energy research, while expanding opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students to participate in high-impact, interdisciplinary research.
Congratulations to Dr. Li on this significant achievement.
