Obtain a Mobile MaineCard:

New or Transfer Students

Welcome home, Black Bears!

Here’s what you need to do to get your Mobile MaineCard:

  • 1. You must be admitted to 91¸£Àû, enrolled in at least 1 course, and have using the activation key included in your admission letter.
  • 2. Visit our Photo Submission page to learn how to submit a headshot and an identifying government-issued ID through an email invitation sent to your maine.edu account.
  • 3. Once your photo is approved, you will be eligible to set up your Mobile MaineCard.

International Students

Welcome to Maine, Black Bears! Your first step is to set up your @maine.edu email account.

Please learn the requirements for your photo by visiting the Photo Submission page for more information.

Once your photo is approved, you may begin the process of downloading your Mobile MaineCard to your smartphone.

Online Students

To obtain a Mobile MaineCard, please submit your photo by requesting your photo submission email invitation.


An invitation link will be sent to your maine.edu email account.

New Faculty and Staff

Welcome to the 91¸£Àû Team!

To obtain your Mobile MaineCard, please stop by the Mainecard Office where we can take your photo and verify your government-issued identification.

You can do this at any time during your first week of employment. The MaineCard Office is open Monday-Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays are by appointment only and must be arranged in advance.

Please note: if your information is not entered into our system by HR, we will be unable to issue you an ID card until it’s updated.

Departmental Card Holders

Departmental MaineCard holders can add funds, view declining balances, and replace lost cards.

Other Campus Cardholders

If you are unsure if you qualify for a Mobile MaineCard, please contact the MaineCard Office or visit us in the about your unique circumstances.

*Please note that not everyone on the 91¸£Àû campus will qualify for a Mobile MaineCard and its benefits.
