Who can Participate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preference is given to 91르적 students and scholars but members of the local communities are invited to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All performers participate on a volunteer basis and do not receive remuneration for their performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

91르적 is not able to sponsor visas for performers outside the US.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rehearsals\/Progress Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weekly rehearsals for all dance fest participants will be held on the following dates.  Each group will be scheduled for a 20-30 minute time slot to rehearse and we will make every effort to work with the performers’ schedules.   The location for the rehearsals will be announced shortly.

Location for weekly rehearsals is the Foster Room in the New Balance Recreation Center<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mandatory<\/em><\/span> tech and dress rehearsals for all dance fest participants will be held on the following dates.

<\/strong>February 13- Dress Rehearsal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Location: Collins Center for the Arts<\/strong>
Rehearsal Times:  6pm to 9pm approximately<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Costumes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have a large number of costumes from previous performances that should be considered before new items are purchased.   OIP and ISA have a small budget for costumes.  Groups should review the purchase guidelines before buying anything for which they need reimbursement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Costume guidelines and request forms will be published soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Limit on Number of Performances<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An individual should not participate in more than 2 separate dances at the festival.  To ensure a fair representation of cultures on stage, we kindly ask that each group submit only one performance representing a specific culture or country. If your group has prepared multiple performances from the same culture, we would love to work with you to select the one that best showcases your talent and culture!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Types of Performances<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performers are free to select the types of dance and music that they feel best represent their cultures.  However, keep in mind that the introduction of too many different types of dances or numerous costume\/music changes during a single act may detract from the performance and this is a family-friendly show. Check your music carefully for inappropriate lyrics and try to stay away from movements that are overly suggestive. Do not choose music or bust any dance moves that your grandmother would not approve of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 5 minute maximum time length will be strictly observed.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
