At 91¸£Àû, your safety is our priority. Our residence halls use Assa Abloy IN120 smart locks, which connect via Wi-Fi and are battery-powered — so they’ll keep working even during a power or Wi-Fi outage. Access your hall and room anytime using your Mobile MaineCard right from your phone.

Activation time: It can take up to 10 minutes for your door lock to recognize your card after it’s issued
System lag: Lock updates can take up to 20 minutes due to high system usage, such as move-in, but it’s uncommon.
First try = red light: Totally normal! Wait 30–60 seconds, then try again. You should have access very soon.

During Business Hours (M-F, 8:00 am–4:30 pm): Call Residence Life at 207.581.4801 or visit the office at Room 311 in the Memorial Union.
In the Evening (7:00–Midnight): Reach out to your friendly Resident Assistant (RA) right in your hall.
Overnight (Midnight–8:00 am): Call UMPD at 207.581.4040 for 24/7 support.
If you have a roommate and their Mobile MaineCard is working on the door properly, then it’s most likely an issue with your Mobile MaineCard. Please visit the MaineCard Office for troubleshooting assistance.
1. If the issue seems to be a lock malfunction or dead battery, contact your Resident Assistant first so they can let you in.
2. To report door lock issues, please call (207) 581-4371 between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and our Tech Services team will be dispatched to assist with your door lock.
3. If you cannot reach someone by phone, please email aux.support@maine.edu with your Hall, Room Number, Name and Phone Number and that will create a ticket straight into our queue.
Once in your room, report your lost phone to the UMPD immediately so that access can be shut off to your residence hall and room, meal plans, Black Bear Bucks, and Meal Plan Dollars account to the New Balance Recreation Center, and your 91¸£Àû Library account at Fogler.
