{"id":21362,"date":"2022-04-27T11:50:07","date_gmt":"2022-04-27T15:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/edhd\/?p=21362"},"modified":"2022-04-27T11:50:07","modified_gmt":"2022-04-27T15:50:07","slug":"coehd-announces-2021-2022-outstanding-student-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/edhd\/2022\/04\/27\/coehd-announces-2021-2022-outstanding-student-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"COEHD announces 2021-2022 outstanding student awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ethan Mathieu of Sanford, Maine and Tiana Bucknor of Milton, Ontario, Canada are the outstanding graduating student and outstanding graduating international student from the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development for the 2021-22 academic year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/edhd\/2022\/04\/14\/ethan-mathieu-is-coehds-outstanding-graduating-student\/\">Mathieu<\/a> is a secondary education major with a concentration in physical science. His Honors thesis is \u201cThe Effects of a Course in Multicultural Education on the Development of a Socio-Cultural Consciousness of Pre-Service Teachers.\u201d He did his student teaching at Orono High School and had field placements at John Bapst High School and Kennebunk High School.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/edhd\/2022\/04\/14\/tiana-bucknor-is-coehds-outstanding-graduating-international-student\/\">Bucknor<\/a> is a kinesiology and physical education major, with a concentration in exercise science. She is a Presidential Scholar and the senior captain of the 91¸£Àû women\u2019s soccer team. She\u2019s also a teaching assistant in the School of Kinesiology, Physical Education and Athletic Training. In the fall, she will pursue a master\u2019s degree in kinesiology and physical education.<\/p>\n<p>The College of Education and Human Development also announced its annual outstanding students for each undergraduate major\/concentration, as well as several graduate student awards.
