\"Day'QuanDay\u2019Quan Wallace has been a graduate student in the School of Kinesiology Physical Education and Athletic Training for the past three years. He has been a graduate assistant for lecturer in health education and lifespan Jennifer McNulty for two of those years. The position allowed him to instruct the Lifetime Fitness labs and help out with other courses offered in the program. These opportunities helped him hone skills in speaking in front of groups of people, writing personalized exercise programs, and to cultivate his own views\/opinions on a holistic view of health and wellness.<\/p>\n

Being enrolled in the KPE graduate program along with holding a GA position has opened the door for the next chapter of Quan’s life. What started out as an internship in cardiac rehabilitation at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center has bloomed into an ideal career opportunity. After six months as an intern, he has been offered a position as a clinical exercise physiologist (CEP) at EMMC. This means the world to him because this is the exact career choice that guided his decision to enroll in the graduate program.<\/p>\n

Quan is thankful for the faculty at Lengyel Hall and his coworkers at EMMC for helping him grow intellectually and as a person. Because of these colleagues, he gets the chance to live at least several more years in the beautiful state of Maine. They have offered him valuable opportunities and experiences. He looks forward to working and enjoying more hikes and bike trails over the next few years here in Maine!<\/p>\n

Quan has grown so much in his three years as a graduate assistant. His confidence in his abilities as an instructor, as well as a facilitator of exercise, have allowed him to instill confidence in his students. Quan strives to connect with everyone he meets and genuinely cares about those around him. He is in the perfect position at Northern Light to help those who are getting back on the path to wellness. He will be missed so much, but we are thrilled he will still be in the area!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
