PennLive<\/a> cited a 2008 University of Maine study in the article, \u201cHazing backlash has college fraternities under siege across America.\u201d The study<\/a>, which was conducted by researchers Elizabeth Allan and Mary Madden, found that 50 percent of fraternity and sorority members surveyed said they had experienced hazing, according to the report.
