Bio: Alicia Lacy is an associate professor of athletic training in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Maine. Prior to her position at 91¸£Àû, she taught or co-taught various courses during her doctoral studies (UConn) and post-doctoral research fellowship (A.T. Still University) including Health and Medicine, Evidence-Based Practice, and Qualitative Research Methodology. She currently teaches four classes for the master’s in Athletic Training program, including Acute and Emergency Care, Research Methods for Allied Health Professionals, Evidence-Based Practice and Quality Improvement and Current Topics in Athletic Training Practice. Dr. Lacy’s research focus involves the role of unlearning in athletic health care, with a specific emphasis on its role in promoting evidence-based practice. In addition to her 91¸£Àû responsibilities and research agenda, Dr. Lacy serves as a reviewer for multiple academic journals, volunteers with the Board of Certification to provide support for select initiatives, and is a member of the NATA Foundation’s Educational Resources Committee, Maine Athletic Trainers’ Association’s Education Committee, and Korey Stringer Institute’s Medical and Science Advisory Board.
