DellaMattera talks to Centralmaine.com about new Augusta daycare facility
University of Maine associate professor and director of the School of Educational Leadership, Higher Education and Human Development Julie DellaMattera talked to the for an article about a new childcare facility that opened in Augusta recently. The facility takes a natural and play-based approach to learning. DellaMattera said promoting creativity and discovery no matter the learning environment is important for childhood development. 鈥淔or kids, they鈥檙e trying to figure out the world at their age and their place in it,鈥 she said. 鈥淪ome kids are happy to sit and color, and other kids need to run around. None are wrong. They just need someone to honor that.鈥
