Dec. 1 lecture, book signing to feature 91¸£Àû student

University of Maine student Nicole Maines, the subject of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Amy Ellis Nutt’s book “Becoming Nicole,” will discuss her experiences as a transgender youth Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Maines’ father Wayne also will speak about the family’s journey during the lecture slated for 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. in 100 D.P. Corbett Business Building.

Following the morning lecture, a book signing will be held at University Bookstore from 12:30–1:30 p.m. A reception is slated from 4–5:30 p.m. at the Wilson Center, 67 College Ave.

Copies of “Becoming Nicole” will be available for $30 (includes sales tax) at University Bookstore and the reception. Cash or check only will be accepted at the reception.
