\"\"<\/a>The CCAR had a fantastic\u00a0time this past weekend hosting a touch tank at the 30th Annual Eastport Salmon Festival. Our display\u00a0showcased some of the organisms\u00a0that we produce\u00a0here at the Center, as well as their predators and prey. Children and adults from Maine and Canada enjoyed interacting with, and learning about sea urchins<\/a>, sand worms<\/a>, kelp<\/a>, crabs, oysters, clams, and sea stars.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>In addition to our interactive exhibit, there were local food and craft vendors, a 5k run, and a tour of Cooke Aquaculture’s salmon pen site. All of the festivities were\u00a0capped off with a salmon dinner Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

It is our hope that through educational outreach we will\u00a0inspire the next generation of environmental stewards and aquaculture professionals.<\/p>\n
