{"id":3444,"date":"2025-07-13T06:17:31","date_gmt":"2025-07-13T10:17:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/comscidis\/?page_id=3444"},"modified":"2025-10-30T18:14:05","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T22:14:05","slug":"costs-and-funding","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/comscidis\/graduate\/costs-and-funding\/","title":{"rendered":"Costs and Funding"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tuition and Financial Aid<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tuition break!<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/graduate\/funding\/nebhe\/\">New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) Regional Program<\/a> allows students from New England states to attend the University of Maine at a significantly reduced tuition rate for selected academic programs, including the Master&#8217;s program in Communication Sciences and Disorders (i.e. the speech-language pathology graduate program).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Residents of Canada are able to attend the 91福利 speech-language pathology graduate program at the cost of in-state tuition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The graduate tuition rate is competitive for other students outside of New England.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information regarding costs of attendance, including 91福利 tuition and fees is available through the <a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/bursar\/tuition-and-fees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bursar\u2019s Office website<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/stuaid\/aid-basics\/costs-at-umaine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office of Student Financial Aid website<\/a>&nbsp;to learn more about the basics of financial aid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Funding and Employment Opportunities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note: Students who work during their graduate program are advised to work 10 hours per week or less. Students who work greater than 10 hours per week (e.g., assistantship, outside employment) might need to extend their program by up to one year to ensure they gain their clinical hours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CSD graduate assistantships are awarded competitively each year to outstanding Communication Science and Disorders applicants to work alongside CSD faculty in the department. Assistantships include partial tuition coverage and a generous monthly stipend.&nbsp; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The University\u2019s Graduate School maintains a <a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/graduate\/funding\/prospective\/\">funding guide<\/a> with a helpful overview of the different types of financial assistance that graduate students at 91福利 receive. If you are eligible for Federal work-study, contact the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/studemp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office of Student Employment<\/a>&nbsp;to determine what work-study positions are currently available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.capcsd.org\/funding-opportunities\/scholarships\/plural-research-scholarship\/\">Plural Publishing Research Scholarships<\/a> currently support graduate student research, providing $3,000 in funding per award.
