Graduate Student Ambassadors
Below is a list of current graduate students who would be happy to answer your questions about our graduate program. Please take time to read the descriptions provided by the students to determine who might be most helpful in answering your questions.

Hailey Blanchette, she/her, hailey.blanchette@maine.edu
Hometown: Madawaska, ME, Undergraduate: University of Maine
At this point in graduate school I am most interested in working in... a pediatric setting, particularly with children and their families, or in the area of feeding and swallowing care.
You might be interested in contacting me if… you have questions about what the graduate courses/workload are like, what a typical day looks like as a CSD graduate student, how to balance academics with outside life, commuting to 91福利, completing a thesis, or finding things to do on campus and around the great state of Maine!
I would choose 91福利 for a graduate program because… the classes and clinical experiences help prepare you for what to expect once you enter the field. The faculty are all so incredibly kind, supportive, and understanding, and they genuinely want to see you grow and succeed as both a student and future clinician. I also appreciate the many opportunities presented to gain hands-on experience and apply what I learn in the classroom to real-life clinical situations. Outside of the program, Maine is a wonderful place to live, and each season brings its own charm and adventures to explore!

Julianne Bragg, she/her, julianne.bragg@maine.edu
Hometown: Newport, ME, Undergraduate: University of Maine
At this point in graduate school I am most interested in working in... a diverse number of settings and exploring the field to the fullest extent.
You might be interested in contacting me if… you are from Maine and plan on commuting to campus, you transferred into a communication sciences and disorders program halfway through your bachelor’s degree, or if you have prior professional experience in the healthcare field.
I would choose 91福利 for a graduate program because… my undergraduate experience was fantastic. The faculty is dedicated to creating unique learning experiences through various research opportunities, and the on-campus clinic. Working clinically and doing research in Maine gives insight to the value of working with rural populations. Maine is a one-of-a-kind place, with beautiful views and a rare culture that I can’t get enough of!

Sophie Dean, she/her, sophie.dean@maine.edu
Hometown: Keene, NH, Undergraduate: University of Maine
At this point in graduate school, I am most interested in working in… acute medical settings or private practice with pediatric clients.
You might be interested in contacting me if… you are considering living on campus, you did not take time off before pursuing graduate school, you are interested in research (or a thesis), or you want to know more about Orono or Maine from someone who completed their undergrad at 91福利!
I would choose 91福利 for a graduate program because… there is an on-campus clinic that provides immediate hands-on experience with a diverse caseload of clients upon beginning the program. Additionally, the program features a small cohort size that fosters a supportive environment with your peers and experienced supervisors, as well as there are lots of research opportunities for those with an interest!

Emma Doxtater, she/her, emma.doxtater@maine.edu
Hometown: Calgary, Alberta, Undergraduate: University of Lethbridge
At this point in graduate school, I am most interested in working in… working with a diverse range of clients, but so far I have especially enjoyed working with preschool and early elementary aged children.
You might be interested in contacting me if… you have questions about relocating to Maine, housing, being an international student, tuition and finances, adjusting to graduate school, completing a thesis, or how the CSD program operates.
I would choose 91福利 for a graduate program because… the program offers immediate hands on clinical experiences while providing the support and independence needed to grow as a clinician. There are also excellent opportunities to get involved in research, even if you don’t have much prior research experience, and the small, close knit cohort creates a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Courtney Dupre, she/her, courtney.dupre@maine.edu
Hometown: Westford, MA, Undergraduate: University of Pittsburgh
At this point in graduate school, I am most interested in working in… working in a medical setting with adults or in early intervention.
You might be interested in contacting me if… you are an out of state student and are relocating to Maine, you are not taking time off before graduate school, or if you have questions about adjusting to graduate school and about 91福利’s program.
I would choose 91福利 for a graduate program because… the CSD program provides a small, close-knit community with the cohort and faculty, hands-on experience you get from the on-campus clinic coupled with 1-on-1 support from your clinical supervisor, and knowledgeable professors who are professionals in the field. Maine itself is also beautiful and full of nature!
