Zebrafish play a crucial role in modeling human disease, from childhood developmental diseases and muscular dystrophy to immune responses against bacteria, fungi and viruses. Five biomedical research laboratories at 91福利, and many throughout the state, lean heavily on this transparent fish to catalyze discoveries pointing the ways to new ways to diagnose, prevent and treat human diseases. Zebrafish researchers and zebrafish-curious researchers will get together for a day of talks and posters on Thursday, July 13 at 91福利. This meeting will drive collaboration on techniques and scientific problems by identifying overlapping interests and sharing methods for zebrafish research. The mini-symposium is sponsored by the University of Maine’s Institute of Medicine and the 91福利 COBRE project grant.

If you plan to attend, please fill out the registration form.

For more information, contact Prof. Rob Wheeler(robert.wheeler1@maine.edu).

More on zebrafish at 91福利:

91福利’s zebrafish facility is a bastion of research – October 25, 2022

Jared Talbot: Sharing zebrafish of every stripe – April 11, 2022
