Using Writing to Help Students Learn
\nWe\u2019ve known for half a century that writing is an important mode for learning. However, how to
\nuse writing in classroom settings to help students learn content often gives instructors a moment
\nof pause. In this workshop, we\u2019ll design short, easily assessable writing-to-learn (WTL) activities
\nfor use in your classroom to help students think about the course content and reflect on learning.
\nWTL is a great approach for large-enrollment courses, as well as those that take place early in
\nthe curriculum.<\/p>\n
This workshop will be co-facilitated\u00a0by by Heather Falconer, an Associate Professor in English and specialist in Writing Across the Curriculum.<\/p>\n
