opposite Wednesday can be reserved for asynchronous work<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Innovation in teaching provides exciting opportunities for research and scholarship on teaching practices.<\/p>\n<p>In this CoP, we will engage with peer mentoring and feedback as we:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>explore the fundamentals of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning,<\/li>\n<li>identify a relevant research question for your course,<\/li>\n<li>find entry points into SoTL literature,<\/li>\n<li>generate background research,<\/li>\n<li>design your study,<\/li>\n<li>and perhaps draft an IRB application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Part learning community, part working group, the aim of this group will be to dedicate time to work and learn together about initiating SoTL research in your classrooms.\u00a0 Novice to skilled SoTL practitioners are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n<p>This CoP will continue into the spring semester where we will continue drafting an IRB, explore collecting and analyzing data and dissemination of results.<\/p>\n<h4><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdXDJfU8Do2DteoZi-SX6keOBoJZxR8mRHv2OtiaIvXwUDkEA\/viewform?usp=sf_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Register here for this event<\/a>\u00a0(opens in a new window)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>\u201c<i>Changing the status of the problem in teaching from terminal remediation to ongoing investigation is precisely what the movement for a scholarship of teaching is all about.\u201d \u2013\u00a0<\/i>Randy Bass;
