CITL Instructional Designers can now work with faculty interested in utilizing geospatial information in their courses via ARC GIS Online. With support from IT and the , faculty and students can use this centrally funded, browser-based, collaborative GIS service, integrated with their 91¸£Àû single-sign on account. Students and faculty will not need any specialized hardware or software, nor will they incur any fees. Use this form (opens in a new window) to request more information.

This program is open to ALL graduate students interested in preparing for careers that involve teaching, inside and outside of academia. The GTA is a place for learning more about effective, evidence-based teaching practices and strategies.

CITL and Student Accessibility Services welcome Dr. Sheryl Burgstahler of the University of Washington to speak about inclusive learning. Learn from Dr. Burgstahler how learning activities and support services can be designed in such a way that they are accessible to and inclusive of students with disabilities along with other marginalized groups. Dr. Burgstahler will present tips that can make this vision a reality and useful resources for further study.

Providing effective feedback to students has been shown to improve learning and motivate students more than grades. It is also a more inclusive and equitable strategy for learning. Yet often students fail to engage in the feedback process. We will discuss some basic characteristics of good feedback, and ways to deliver feedback, ending with a discussion of strategies to engage students in the process.

GrackleDocs is a set of add-on tools available in Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets as part of the University’s Google Suite. It makes the creation and curation of digitally accessible documents easy to learn and adopt. This orientation will introduce you to this tool and demonstrate how you can use it to build your inclusive practice and create course content with equity in mind.
