UMS IT Announcement – Zoom web conferencing available August 8

This is to inform you that UMS IT聽will be officially launching the new Zoom web conferencing service tomorrow, Wednesday, August 8.

This service provides professional quality web conferencing across Mac, PC and mobile devices. As an addition, it is possible to dial into Zoom meetings from Polycom-equipped meeting rooms.

Starting August 8, you will find a link to Zoom on the myCampus launchpad. You can also access it at using your UMS credentials. Zoom is integrated with Blackboard and Kaltura for those of you working in those spaces.

We will be offering live training sessions both from the vendor and internal UMS staff over the coming weeks:

For those of you that will be recording sessions that you host, they will automatically be transferred over to the official University of Maine System video server, Kaltura, that can be found at. If you plan on recording, do make sure you link your account to Kaltura. This only needs to be done once and is linked from your Zoom profile page at the bottom: . If you have never used Kaltura, you may need to log into before updating your Kaltura ID in Zoom.

If you wish to connect via Polycom, you will find that the Zoom meeting calendar invitations have instructions embedded.
